Amber Smith

Amber is a passionate hydrologist and has worked on projects in hydraulic flood modelling, dambreak and consequence risk assessment, water resources and catchment flow hydrology. She is currently studying a Masters of Climate Change at the Australian National University.
Amber has experience in modelling software including TUFLOW, HEC-LifeSim, eWater Source, DRAINS and MUSIC modelling. She also has a background in using spatial software such as ArcGIS and QGIS to develop efficient and creative approaches to engineering problems.
Prior to joining HARC, Amber worked at Mott MacDonald for 2 years as a civil engineer assessing drainage, hydrological and environmental impacts for major transport and infrastructure projects.
She completed her engineering undergraduate studies at the University of Adelaide in 2018 with an Honours research project in the feasibility of mini hydropower turbines in pipelines under an uncertain future.
