Benson is a civil engineer with over eight years’ experience in hydrology, hydraulic modelling and dam safety risk assessments. Since 2016, he has also been involved in the development and maintenance of the hydrological software RORB.
Benson has experience working on catchments and dams all across Australia with a particular focus on hydrologically complex catchments, gate operations of dams and constructing risk models for input into dam safety risk assessments.
Benson has worked on a number of hydrology, dambreak, consequence and risk assessments utilising a number of software and techniques, including RORB, URBS, TUFLOW, LifeSim and TotalRisk.
He has also been heavily involved in the SFAIRP assessments of WaterNSW’s and Snowy Hydro’s portfolio of dams.
