Declan O'Shea

Declan graduated with a Master of Engineering (Environmental) from the University of Melbourne in 2017 and has over two years’ experience in hydrology and flood risk management.

Since joining HARC he has worked on a range of studies including estimating extreme rainfall probabilities for several dams in Queensland and Western Australia, and estimating extreme flood characteristics for Burdekin Falls Dam. In this time Declan has gained experience with a range of hydrologic, hydraulic and GIS software programs including RORB, MIKE, TUFLOW, ArcGIS, MapInfo and QGIS.

In 2019 Declan commenced a PhD at the University of Melbourne investigating the impact of climate change on extreme rainfalls and floods. He will continue to work on projects at HARC throughout his PhD.
