Michael Cawood

Michael is one of Victoria’s most experienced flood risk and emergency management professionals.  He has more than 40 years’ experience, a proven track record and an extensive resume of flood and emergency management related projects here in Australia and internationally.  He is uniquely credentialed on all aspects of flood warning and is one of only a very limited number of Level 3 accredited Flood Analysts working with the Victorian State Emergency Service.  Michael has also developed and delivered a wide range of incident and dam safety exercises in response to statutory and other drivers.

Michael’s professional experience includes roles in both the public and private sectors with positions in State and Commonwealth agencies as well as small and large consulting firms.  For the 16 years prior to joining HARC in 2019, Michael was the sole Director of Michael Cawood & Associates.
