Peter Hill

Peter has 25 years experience in hydrology and dam safety risk assessment.

His professional career includes roles with the Cooperative Research Centre for Catchment Hydrology, Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) and Jacobs.  Over that period he has led an extensive portfolio of hydrological studies, dambreak and consequence assessment studies and dam safety risk analyses for most of Australia’s water supply authorities.

Peter has recently completed a significant contribution to the understanding of catchment losses as part of the revision of Australian Rainfall and Runoff.  He is also active in the Australian National Commitee on Large Dams (ANCOLD) and is currently convenor of the committee tasked with updating the ANCOLD Guidelines on Acceptable Flood Capacity for Dams. Peter is the director of HARC.
