Rachel Barrett has over 6 years of experience in engineering consulting, a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from the University of Auckland, and a Master in Environmental Engineering from ETH Zurich in Switzerland.
During her Master’s degree in Switzerland, and her subsequent work there, Rachel specialised in water resources engineering and urban water management. She wrote her thesis on the spatial modelling of rain-induced infiltration into sewers.
Rachel has worked on various projects in the areas of flood risk analysis, dam break modelling and consequence assessment, catchment hydrology, stormwater design, dam safety assessment, and engineering finance and economics.
Rachel has experience in a number of different water models (including MIKE11, HEC-RAS, RORB, EPA-SWMM, eWater Source), GIS tools (ArcGIS and QGIS), and programming languages (MATLAB and R).
